What Is A Trembler?

Tremblers are aptly named items of vintage jewelry, because, well, they tremble!  These unique finds have parts that are set on metal that vibrates with movement.  We see trembler jewelry most often as earrings with baubles a-flutter set on short lengths of chain.

They're also seen on thin wire or coiled springs. The rhinestones, beads or charms that end each chain/wire are lightweight enough to gently stir, shudder and shake with any movement. It was a feminine, sometimes kitschy effect in vintage costume jewelry, most often seen in the 1950s & 60s.
