Utterly charming from the early Victorian era! This bodice was made completely by hand, before sewing machines were available. It has cotton trim to match along the V-neck, gathered to a point at center waist. The space between the front edges where the lining shows indicates a fichu would've been sewn or folded into place here. This bodice has a tightly fitted natural waist with boning to inside front. Beautiful bell sleeves finish this exquisite find. Measurements Bust 30.5, Waist 22.5; Sleeve Length 19.75, Neck to Hem 14.25 Inches Label None, expertly made by hand Closure Metal hooks/eyes at center front lining Condition Detail Lovely, especially for its age; has unfinished edges to front waist where (as described) a fichu would be placed; two penpoint tan dots to both right and left sleeves at elbow area, hard to notice; a few scant holes in cotton trim, none obvious Wear Recommendation Wearable with due caution Washing Instructions Cold hand wash, shape and dry flat, steam or press gently on medium-high setting
