Horse Racing Silk Scarf - Bianchini Ferier Paris - Rare Design for George V Hotel - Jockey's Colors Eiffel Tower - High Stakes At The Races

$ 495.00

On par with the finest of French scarves, this Bianchini Ferier design is a rare one, showcasing a world of horse racing motifs. Many varied and intricate scenes show jockeys' silks, horses in action, and landmarks around France. Many phrases and titles are seen throughout, including:

Longchamp
Le Grand Prix
Chantilly
Saint Cloud
Deauville
... many more

This scarf was likely made in coordination for the George V Hotel in Paris, as their mark is seen at one corner. Though many Bianchini Ferier scarves were designed anonymously, this one has the name "Paulette Lagosse" on the artist's palette at center, and next to the George V mark. Lagosse was an accomplished artist best known for pet portraits and animal scenes. Has a hand-rolled hem.
