A very fine 1920s double bedspread in quaint feminine embroidery, depicting an 18th century lady in exquisite detail. This 20s sheer full size coverlet showcases an elegant woman wearing a 1700s lace-up dress with panniers, ruffles and daisies embroidered to the full skirt. Her cameo style frame is an antique delight, and the oval above it is dyed lavender with pastel flowers embroidered in silky buttonhole twist.
This full size bed spread is one sheer layer with a central pink rectangle (55 x 88 inches) flanked in piping with beige cotton panels (each 19 inches long) to three sides.
Measures 93 x 107 inches total. Please note this item was too large for us to photograph the entire bedspread flat, and the second photo shows the largest view available, including much of the central pink panel, and some of the beige panels.
Condition is good to the pink panel, fair to the natural "dust ruffle" panels that flank the bedspread on three sides. Has many small brown freckles to the pink panel's sides, top, and bottom; and many obvious brown freckles and liquid marks to the beige side panels. Can be washed carefully by hand, dried flat, and pressed on the underside with medium-high heat.
This bedspread was originally one of two coverlets in matching "sister" styles. The other one is a twin size bedspread, originally listed at the same time this coverlet was listed. Please check our shop listings for current stock.
