XL Sarong Style Fabric - Polynesian Chic - Fuchsia Pink Cotton with Halter Style Ties - Like A Sun Dress - Hand Sewn Appliques -

$ 29.99

This unique fabric panel has been seamed and finished slightly, so it's more than just raw fabric. At the same time, it's so unfinished it's not yet ready for wear. It's pure cotton from the 1960s or 70s with elaborate hand-sewn batik appliques with a Southeast Asian influence. The main fabric is unshaped in a broad rectangular tube, seamed at center back and sewn with what appears to be halter ties to center front. It is also seamed once under what would be the bandeau bodice, and has darts above this near the halter ties and a finished hem. We've researched to determine what it was originally meant to be, and though we've found little information on this item, it seems to be the beginning of a sarong or sun dress.
