50s Evening Purse - Gold & Fawn Floral Metallic Satin Brocade 1950s Formal Bag - Japanese Saga Nishiki Art Brocade Handbag - Japan Artisan

$ 75.00

This beautiful evening bag was made of Japanese saga-nishiki brocade, a high art of Japan textiles in which lacquered rice paper is woven with silk to create shimmering brocade. It's a late 1950s handbag in fawn, coral, silver-gray and gold metallics with a subtle tropical effect. Has brass hardware and a two-tone satin lining with one zippered pocket inside. A printed description of saga-nishiki history on rice paper is included.
