This top quality 1960s black dress has couturier details and a posh Hollywood designer label, made by Jean Louis, the same Frenchman who dressed Marilyn Monroe for her birthday song to JFK.
It's a high-end wool crepe dress in perfect tailoring, with outlined seams, a brief notch at the neckline, and long sleeves. Has a classic fit with trim waist & flared A-line skirt. This dress has a glossy patent style belt in shiny black vinyl with a dimensional bow to center front, buckled in back. Fully lined in silk. Originally sold at Bonwit Teller in the mid 60s.
