Red velvet ballgown style skirt from Yves St Laurent, a glorious plush cranberry design with a fitted waistband, rich full gathers, and hidden pockets at the side seams. The silhouette is bubble-like, with a pouf of fullness that tapers to the hem, rather reminiscent of a hobble skirt from the 1910s. Fully lined in rustling taffeta. Late 1970s to early 1980s.
