Size 12 1940s Hollywood Robe - Estate of Starlet Gladys Glad Ziegfeld Follies - 40s Coral Brown Chartreuse Paisley with Monogram - Bust 40

$ 350.00

An outstanding 1940s robe from the golden age of Hollywood! This marvelous paisley robe was custom made for Gladys Glad, a starlet of the 1930s who married producer Mark Hellinger in 1929 and starred as a Ziegfeld girl in 1931.

This robe has a gorgeous line with oversized point lapels, a classic wrap front, and unfitted sleeves with broad cuffs. The monogram reads GGH for Gladys Glad Hellinger. It's slightly crepe-textured in a wonderful paisley pattern, ankle length, with a right hip pocket and gossamer twill trim. Made between 1936 (when the Regine Brenner lingerie shop opened) and the early 1940s, meticulously finished by hand. Original self sash tie included.
