This late 1950s polka dot dress is a posh find from a New York designer! It's a pure silk shirtwaist with a bold point lapel, sharp tailoring, and long full sleeves with fitted cuffs. This dress has a slightly bloused bodice and beautiful radiant darts from waist to hip, pleated to the hem. Once expensive when originally made, now a bargain with small flaws that make it ideal for stage or costume. Late 50s to early 60s.

Tan perspiration marks at edge of collar and a bit along front of lapel as well, looks dusky and slightly noticed when worn, quite obvious if the collar crease is laid flat; front bodice has 5-6 faint beige dots and a single black speck near bottom of placket; a cluster of grayish scuffs at center front waist probably from a belt buckle (see fourth photo); a few horizontal beige pencil-thin lines around the waist likely from perspiration (see fifth photo); a few scant beige dots and scuffs elsewhere that would be hard to find/notice; overall worn but ideal for stage or costume
