Size 2 Authentic Regency Dress - Pink Polka Dot Empire Gown - 1800s Pride and Prejudice Jane Austen Style - Before Victorian Era - Bust 32
$ 2,295.00
Authentic 1800s Regency dress in cotton gauze with delicate, airy lace decolletage. This rare pre-Victorian Empire gown has a broad scoop neckline, short sleeves, and a thin bodice lining of cotton muslin. Has light gathers to the columnar skirt. This dress has mostly hand-sewn seams, with apparent reinforcement to the bodice seams as they appear to be likely machine-sewn (and were simultaneously made a bit smaller at side seams and shoulder seams). Snaps were added at back bodice for the closure.

Condition Detail
Very nice, especially for an item two hundred years old; has an area of approximately 10 holes to underside of right sleeve, largest of these are approx. 1/8-inch; one similarly sized hole low to skirt near a seam; the lower skirt has very subtle but widespread lightening in vertical streaks that would be hard to perceive at all; the lace collar has 3-4 slightly fraying areas; alterations as noted in description above; generally fabric looks and feels strong and could be worn with respectful care
Washing Instructions
Preferably clean by a textile expert: Cold hand wash, shape and dry flat, steam or press carefully on medium-high setting, store folded
Please note: All measurements (bust - waist - hip) are the maximum body measurements that will fit the item. These measurements already have ease subtracted and they are not actual fabric widths. To get actual fabric widths add two inches at the bust - one inch at the waist and two inches at the hip.
Size listed is a modern size. Any available vintage size is noted in the Label description. Please remember vintage sizes and modern sizes can vary a great deal.
