Size 8 1940s Sheer Party Dress - Beautiful 40s 50s Burgundy Silk Print Sleeveless Frock with Red Velvet Ribbon & Ruching - NWT NOS Deadstock

Late 1940s silk party dress in sheer silk voile, printed in a lively flourish pattern with burgundy velvet ribbon to match. This winsome summer dress has a bandeau neckline with deep ruching stripes to the front bodice, each with a ribbon stripe to its center. Though the photos don't show the straps well, there are ribbon straps at the shoulders. It has a V-point waist with velvet bow accents, and eight flared gores to the full skirt. Original Clayton's hangtag included from the late 40s to early 50s, with a $35 price from seventy years ago... this would be over $350 in today's dollars!

Lovely, unworn and freshly dry cleaned, has a vague hint of tanning to skirt's left side and similarly faint hint of dye transfer next to the waist ribbons, this is very vague and would be very hard to notice when worn; overall beautiful for its age
