ca. 1919 Child's Quaint Cotton Undergarment - Antique Size 5T Girls Boys Hickory Waist Underwear with Carved Bone Buttons - 1910s Deadstock

$ 39.99

This waist was made for both boys and girls, meant to attach to elastic garters at the waist tabs. Has an open front neckline, buttons at the waist and a V-neck in back. It's quite a system just to hold up your socks! And imagine every child was wearing such a thing when this garment was made. The 1919 Sears catalog pictures one and describes it as a 'sensible and comfortable child's waist'. It was stocked at a Louisiana drygoods store that opened in 1911.
