This 1930s velvet dress has an elegant Hollywood appeal with its shawl-like V-neck of gathered lace contrasting against luxurious jet black velvet edged in jagged piecework. It has 3/4-length sleeves with heavy ruching to the elbow, a fitted waist seam with blouson gathers to the bodice and a six-panel skirt.

Condition Detail
Looks excellent at first glance but the back neckline of lace has very obvious missing areas that have been meticulously sewn to the rayon facing to reinforce and finish them (see fourth photo), some seams have been reinforced, one corner of label in skirt seam has been re-tacked

Washing Instructions
Dry clean in a net bag, preferably by a dry cleaner experienced with vintage clothing
