Size 8 1930s Evening Coat - Orchid Purple Velvet Opera Coat with Lilac Pink Satin Lining - Authentic 30s 40s Formal Redingote - Bust 37.5

Victorian fairytale style velvet evening coat was made in the 1930s or early 40s, with a fanciful nod to antique fashion. It's a glamorous formal overcoat in a singularly beautiful hue, rich deep orchid purple with the palest lilac satin lining. This redingote style has a very pretty silhouette, buttoned to the front torso with a plunge neckline, and rich gathers above and below the waist panel. This 30s velvet opera coat has long full sleeves with buttoned cuffs, and femme appeal from a dramatic era.

Condition Detail
Lovely condition, looks and feels sturdy inside and out; the bottom waist button has a tiny repaired hole next to it that's hidden when coat is closed; the cuffs have an unusual design/alteration, as there are two sets of buttons & loops on each cuff (one row of two, one row of four) so that the cuff can be closed to two different circumferences (approx 7 inches or 8 1/2 inches)

Dry clean, preferably by a cleaner experienced with vintage clothing
